DRA - German-Russian Exchange (Berlin)


Founded in 1992, the DRA is a registered non-profit organisation. Its aim is to strengthen European civil society with a focus on exchange and cooperation between Germany and Eastern Europe. The DRA runs programmes and projects with many partners in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Belarus, and partially in Armenia and Georgia. It works in the following fields: international cooperation and conflict management; civil society; democracy, human and civil rights; youth work; education; climate and environmental protection; media, society, history, social concerns, integration and inclusion; and volunteer work. Typical working formats include: networking activities, international advocacy, monitoring, volunteer exchange, training opportunities (seminars, study trips, lectures, often including implementation in subprojects), conferences, expert consultations and publications. Its work is financed through grants, donations and membership fees.
