Nota Bene

The organization Nota Bene was established in December 2009. It is one of the first human rights and democracy think tanks in Tajikistan. The organization works to promote human rights and the development of civil society in Tajikistan. It monitors the human rights situation in Tajikistan, prepares analytical reports and documents directed at international and regional human rights bodies (such as, the UN, the Council of Europe, the OSCE), and reviews national legislation with the aim of bringing it into conformity with international human rights standards. The organization also hosts education sessions for a range of target groups, works to increase NGO capacity to implement public interest projects, and provides support to legal teams in specific strategic litigation suits.

The brutal crackdown on political opposition in Tajikistan has been among the most dramatic developments in the OSCE region over the past year.

Organizations of Human rights in Tajikistan and CIS thank the Government Commission on drafting the Law of Tajikistan "Military Duty and Military Service" for the publication of the law on the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan.
