Activists warn that Russia occupies continental Ukraine

According to Ukrainian activists, on 12 April Russia in fact invaded continental Ukraine. This fact has been recognized by the Interior Minister of Ukraine, military experts and numerous witnesses of the latest events in Eastern Ukraine. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine was urgently convened.

"The Government of Ukraine is considering the facts of today as display of external Russian aggression," - Arseniy Avakov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, wrote on his Facebook page. The reason for such a statement is the fact the weapons, used by militants in Krasny Liman (Donetsk Region), is a special series of Kalashnikov machine guns with grenade launchers that is owned only by armed forces of Russian Federation.

Some activists in Slavyansk (Donetsk region captured a picture of a "green man" with weapon whose uniform looks just the same as had been seen in Crimea. In Slavyansk also the towers of mobile connection were destroyed, police station and Security Service office (SBU) are blocked. Two journalists were caught by armed people, but later they were released. A weapon storage room in Slavyansk was raided and, as a result, a large number of firearms were handed over to random people.

Currently, some of the buildings of the police and the Security Service offices in the East are under the control of pro-Russian activists, who are in fact heavily armed and seemingly well trained militants. According to some witnesses, checkpoints with armored personnel carriers and gunmen were set up on highways, with gunmen beating and detaining people and destroying cars.

The police in the East of Ukraine are largely not under the control of the central government.

Meanwhile the creation of "Ukrainian Federation" is announced in Crimea; it is meant to join the Union State of Belarus and Russia and should include Eastern and Southern Ukrainian regions. This is a messages posted by Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Rustem Temirhaliyev.
